SXSW LIVE STREAM!!!!

Free TV : Ustream

The above was sent to me by an intern at ustream and I thought some of you might enjoy the performances. To be noted, of course, is that Kevin Devine will be performing on Saturday @ 230pm CT. Enjoy!

Mindless Self Indulgence & Hollowboy [current] 13 March 2009

The last photo is just of someone's mom in the audience. How she put up with the whole thing, I'm not sure because she looked frustrated and upset the whole time. I venture to say it was her first time in a pit. At any rate, to anyone who has never seen MSI before I highly recommend it. It can't even be called a show but more like an experience. There are so many things from that night that I will never forget, including Jimmy pulling 2 other photographers and myself up on stage and slapping my ass. Molestation was apparently necessary. And then the man snorted fun dip and god only knows it would take me all of ten pages to sum up the night. In short, it was fucking ridiculous in the best possible way. Make a note and mark your calendars next time they're about. It's a must see.

Thursday, Bring Me The Horizon [current] 3rd March 2009

Thursday is one of those bands that I've been in love with for upwards for eight years. Every time I see them live I really am completely floored by their performance. Geoff Rickly has a stage presence I don't think that anyone can quite touch. Their set was the perfect combination of old and new. I haven't really been able to stop listening to Thursday since Friday because of this but that is never a bad thing!

Pierce the Veil, Four Year Strong, Cancer Bats [current] 3rd March 09

Taste of Chaos this year probably had the most cohesive lineup I've ever seen. The shows I went to were truly amazing. And I had the opportunity to catch up with Pierce the Veil and spend a little time in their completely awesome RV. I'll have more stuff posted soon for everyone to enjoy. In the mean time check out the photos. PTV are my new band to obsess about; they're few and far between. And they have the most epic cover of Beat It. Fall Out Boy should be ashamed.

Kevin Devine [current] 22 Jan 2009

For the first time ever I had the pleasure of using an XSi and I have to say I had a lot of fun shooting with it. Unfortunately, I didn't have time to warm up with the camera prior to the show and so I apologize for the small size of many of the images shot; the set up is different than my XTi and I did not realize what a small low quality the photos were taken in. Fortunately, I did snag some images of Kevin's performance with my XTi as well and those are up to par with what I normally take. The performance was outstanding. Very intimate and touching. He had the entire crowd sit down for the hour and twenty or so minutes he played for us and joked with us. I apologize for the limited angles as I didn't want to be in everyone's way the whole time.
